Master of Science in Procurement and Supply Chain Management

The Master of Procurement and Supply Chain Management Programme aims to equip learners with specialist knowledge and skills in Procurement and Supply Chain Management in both public and private sector operating contexts. The specific objectives of the Programme are to:

  1. Equip learners with the knowledge and skills required to plan, implement, and control the sourcing process of goods and services, and their attendant supply chains in an effective and efficient manner.  
  2. Enhance the ability of learners to evaluate both local and international business environments from an academic, practical, and critical perspective, and design appropriate interventions for effective supply chain management
  3. Instill professional, legal, ethical, and social awareness in the practice of Procurement and supply chain management
  4. Equip learners with the knowledge and skills required to manage business relations locally and in a multicultural, and global setting.  
  5. Prepare learners for research and life-long learning in the field of procurement and supply chain management
  6. Equip learners with creative problem-solving skills and attitude to develop innovative solutions to overcome supply chain obstacles.

Course Modules

Entry Requirements

  • Applicants should possess at least a Lower Second Division Honors Degree in either Procurement or Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management from a recognized and chartered University/institution.
  • An Honors Bachelor’s Degree in commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Pharmacy, Engineering, Medicine or other relevant field plus a relevant Postgraduate Diploma in Procurement, Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management from Makerere University or its equivalent from a recognized Institution.
  • Possession of appropriate full Professional Qualification such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, United Kingdom), Nevi Procurement Leadership Program, CILT (Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, United Kingdom), etc.
  • An applicant who is a holder of a third-class degree or its equivalent may be admitted only after providing evidence of academic growth and maturity in the desired field of study as judged by the Board of Graduate studies and Research of Makerere University.
