Bachelor of Science in Finance Degree was introduced in 2007 to provide students with strong theoretical and practical-oriented skills for employment in the private and the public sectors, among others. The programme was also introduced to solve the challenges facing the finance industry which was and continues to struggle with huge and disruptive upheaval. The programme started with 20 registered students but the student numbers have tremendously increased over the past 11 years. Currently the Programme has over 400 students (from first year to third year). This means that there is a significant demand for the programme at both micro and macro level.

Career Path
At the end of the programme, it is expected that students will be able to;
- Explain the scope and nature of business focusing on the business finance function
- Demonstrate an understanding of the disparate process of evolution of the financial systems components, finance theories and models
- Communicate effectively using oral, written, qualitative and quantitative, and multimedia techniques related to general business management and finance
- Demonstrate an understanding of the political, economic, social, technological and legal issues and their implications in finance and investment decision making.
- Perform and interpret financial analysis using finance techniques and financial models to solve financial problems
- Explain the functioning of financial markets and roles of financial institutions in the economic development process
- Examine and explain investment and financial risk management in an organization
- Develop an integrated perspective of organizational components that influence finance and investment decisions
- Evaluate the role of a financial manager and ethical issues related to finance in an organization.
