Publications Unit

The Publications Unit is an Administrative Unit under the Office of the Principal. It was created from the Public Relations Office in 2015. Its major objective is to inform and engage the MUBS Community by providing accurate, timely and relevant information about the School events, achievements, research and developments.

The Unit was created to serve as a communication bridge between the School, staff, students, alumni and other stakeholders. It was also created to promote the School’s image, foster a sense of community, highlighting the School’s achievements while keeping stakeholders informed about the School’s key events.

Through highlighting positive narratives, achievements, the School’s reputation has been enhanced, hence attracting prospective students, staff and donors. Therefore, the Unit is central to maintaining a well-informed, engaged and connected MUBS, and it is key in managing the School’s broader communication strategy.

The Publications Unit is responsible for producing and distributing news related to the School. It focuses on reporting events, achievements, research, and activities within the MUBS community, such as staff accomplishments, student initiatives, campus events, and academic developments. The Unit operates through various platforms, including the School website, newsletters, social media, graduation and alumni magazines. The Unit also provides students especially with practical experience, writing, editing, and digital media production.     

Primary objectives of the Publications Unit

 

  1. Disseminating information: The Unit ensures that the activities, achievements, and newsworthy events of the school, such as research breakthroughs, staff accomplishments, student achievements, and campus events, are communicated to the public, and MUBS stakeholders.
  2. Enhancing the school’s Public Image: The Unit works to positively shape the school’s reputation, ensuring that both the public and potential students view the institution as credible, reputable, and progressive.
  3. Promoting Academic and Research Excellence: The Unit is responsible for publicizing the School’s academic achievements and research initiatives. It works to highlight staff and student research, partnerships, and innovations, ensuring these contributions are shared widely.
  4. Supporting Recruitment and Admissions: By promoting the school’s successes and highlighting academic programs, the Unit indirectly supports recruitment efforts, attracting prospective students, and staff.
  5. Engage the MUBS Community: Keeps students, staff, and alumni informed about School events, achievements. This supports a collaborative and informed academic environment.
  6. Building Community and Stakeholder Engagement: The Unit works to promote engagement with the wider community, including alumni, donors, and prospective students, by providing them with regular news updates and involving them in the school’s successes and initiatives.
