Personal Statement

My ultimate career aspiration is to serve as a Vice-Chancellor or Board Chairman of a reputable university, among others where I can leverage my expertise to drive institutional excellence, innovation, and sustainability.

With a strong foundation in management and leadership, I have developed a keen interest in exploring the complexities of higher education management. I am fascinated by the opportunity to lead a university community, foster a culture of excellence, and drive strategic growth and development. My expertise in management, coupled with my experience in research and academia, makes me an ideal candidate for a senior leadership position in a university setting.

As a transformative leader and scholar, I am driven by a passion for excellence in higher education management, information technology (IT) governance and electronic waste management research.

In addition, I am interested in Information Technology Governance research, with a particular emphasis on exploring the intersection of technology, governance, and sustainability. My previous researches aimed to investigate the role of information technology in driving transparency, accountability, and efficiency in governance, as well as its potential to support sustainable development.

Furthermore, my interest in higher education management, I am also passionate about electronic waste management research. The rapid growth of electronic devices has resulted in a significant increase in electronic waste, posing substantial environmental and health risks. My research interests focus on developing innovative solutions for electronic waste management, including strategies for reduction, reuse, and recycling. I am committed to contributing to the body of knowledge in this field and informing policy and practice.

My passion for digitization of the Ugandan public sector is driven by a desire to see my country leverage technology to drive economic growth, improve service delivery, and enhance citizen engagement. I believe that digital transformation has the potential to revolutionize the public sector, enabling more efficient, effective, and accountable services. I am excited about the prospect of contributing to initiatives that promote digital inclusion, cybersecurity, and data-driven decision-making in the public sector.

Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have developed strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, which have enabled me to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including academics, policymakers, and industry leaders. My expertise in management, research, and leadership makes me an ideal candidate for senior leadership positions in higher education, research, or consulting.

Notably, I played a pivotal role in the digitization of Makerere University Business School’s processes as a member of the Digitization Committee. I contributed to the design and implementation of digital solutions, enhancing efficiency, transparency, and accountability in the school’s operations.

Furthermore, I have been awarded grants to develop innovative electronic waste smart systems, demonstrating my commitment to environmental sustainability and technological innovation. My research focuses on developing cutting-edge solutions for electronic waste management, informing policy and practice in Uganda and beyond.

With a proven track record of driving digital transformation and innovation, I am poised to leverage my expertise to drive institutional excellence, innovation, and sustainability. I am excited about opportunities to collaborate with like-minded individuals and organizations, driving positive change in higher education, environmental sustainability, and beyond.
