Bachelor of Procurement and Supply Chain Management

This Programme was approved by Senate in 2002 as a stand-alone degree programme.  The BPSM program was last reviewed in 2007 and now the Programme is being reviewed because of recommendation of the Academic Programme Restructuring Committee of Senate to merge it with Bachelor of Transport and Logistics Management (BTLM) together with employers’ demand in the skills that are expected of a Graduate of Bachelor of Procurement and supply chain management and benchmarking from other Universities offering similar programs. The program was previously running as both Day and Evening.  In the current review, the program still will run both as Day and Evening. The reviewed programme is now being submitted.

Career Path

Upon successful completion of this Programme, the students should be able to:

  • Become familiar with current Procurement and supply chain management trends Understand and apply the current supply chain theories, practices and concepts utilizing case problems and problem-based learning situations
  • Learn to use and apply computer-based Procurement and supply chain optimization tools including the use of selected state of the art Procurement and supply chain software suites currently used in business
  • Develop and utilize critical management skills such as negotiating, working effectively within a diverse business environment, ethical decision making and use of information technology
  • Demonstrate the use of effective written and oral communications, critical thinking, team building and presentation skills as applied to business problems
  • Demonstrate operational purchasing methods and techniques on supplier management and supply in specific business contexts

Advice management on the organization of E-commerce, logistics, import taxes, risk, customs and legal aspects of global trading
