Master of Banking and Investment Management 

Uganda’s financial sector is growing at a fast rate and the number of investors coming to do business in the country is also on the rise. Uganda is also becoming a preferred investment destination due to its stable and favorable macro-economic policies. This is a good indicator of investor confidence and improved environment. The liberalization and globalization of the financial sector has seen Uganda experience a tremendous growth in the banking sector, insurance, Pension and Retirement as well as the financial markets. All these developments require new skills and therefore the Master of Banking and Investment Management seeks to build the required human resources capital for the financial sector.

The banking and investment industry has registered tremendous innovations and new product development and has become more integrated in the global financial markets. Therefore,  this requires a new skillsets which the existing MBI does not address. To bridge the gap revised MBI is designed to produce graduates that can best be position to practice banking and investment in the ever changing local and international environment

Career Path

On completion of the Programme, graduates should be able to:

  1. Apply acquired knowledge related to bank operations in the growing dynamic and complex world of banking
  2. Apply acquired knowledge related to investment in the growing dynamic and complex world of investment
  • Spearhead research and consulting services in the areas of banking and investment
  1. Apply analytical and critical thinking skills to help in problem solving
  2. Ability to integrate knowledge, manage complexity and make judgment in banking and investments

Entry Requirements

The general regulations and guidelines of Higher Degrees and the School will apply. Candidates seeking admission to study the Degree of Master Banking and Investment Management. in any of the admission categories mention (3.1.1 to 3.1.4), will be required to provide references certifying their ability and suitability to undertake the course successfully. Never the less, the following guidelines will be adhered to:

At least a Lower Second Division Honours degree or equivalent qualifications from a recognized and chartered university.
