Sustained economic growth and development depend upon well-designed economic policy frameworks that respond to the current and future community needs. The responsibility to nurture policy professionals partly lies within MUBS mandate “the benchmark for Business and Management Education, Research and Training in the Region”. Due to the ever-changing socio-economic and political terrain, there exists an urgent need for robust policy options that mirror global, regional, and national welfare benchmarks. Therefore, the Master of Economic Policy and Management (MEPM) programme is unique; nurturing professionals with blended economics and management disciplines necessary to guide focused policy design and management options to spur sustainable development.

                The MEPM Program graduates should be able to:

Entry Requirements

The general regulations and guidelines of Higher Degrees and the School will apply. Candidates seeking admission to study the Degree of Master of Economic Policy and Management will be required to provide references certifying their ability and suitability to undertake the course successfully. Never the less, the following guidelines will be adhered to:

  • At least a Lower Second Division Honours degree or equivalent qualifications from a certified University in the areas of Economics and Business.
  • Candidates with a good Postgraduate Diploma from Makerere University or its equivalent from a certified Institution shall qualify for admission to
  • Candidates who have completed any relevant professional qualifications by the time of application shall qualify for admission to study MEPM
