The Postgraduate Diploma in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics (PGD-BIDA) is designed to equip graduates and professionals with advanced knowledge and practical skills in harnessing data for decision-making, strategic planning, and business transformation. The programme integrates core concepts of data management, statistical analysis, business intelligence, machine learning, and data visualization to prepare learners for roles in the emerging data-driven economy.
2. Rationale
Data is a key driver of innovation, competitiveness, and economic development. Uganda, Africa, and the global market are increasingly demanding professionals with skills in data analytics and business intelligence to optimize business processes, improve efficiency, and drive policy decisions. This programme responds to:
- Uganda’s National Development Plan IV (NDP IV) focus on digital transformation.
- The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, Infrastructure) and Goal 8 (Decent Work & Economic Growth).
- The Uganda Ministry of ICT Digital Transformation Agenda and Africa Agenda 2063 emphasizing knowledge-based economies.
